Connect a Bluesky account

Connect Bluesky with your handle and an app password. An app password is separate from your main password and can be revoked any time.

Bluesky connects with an app password: a separate password you create in Bluesky just for Hyvo. Never use your main Bluesky password.

1. Create an app password in Bluesky

  1. In Bluesky, go to Settings → Privacy and security → App passwords (or open bsky.app/settings/app-passwords).
  2. Add a new app password and name it "Hyvo".
  3. Copy the password. It looks like xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx.

2. Connect it in Hyvo

  1. In Hyvo, choose Connect in the sidebar, then Bluesky.
  2. Enter your handle, for example you.bsky.social.
  3. Paste the app password and choose Connect.
  4. Confirm the account Hyvo found.

What Hyvo can do on Bluesky

  • Publish posts with up to 4 files. A post can be up to 300 characters.
  • Schedule posts.
  • Show likes, replies, reposts and quotes in Analytics. Bluesky doesn't publish view counts, so there are no impressions for Bluesky.

Removing access

To stop Hyvo's access at any time, delete the "Hyvo" app password in Bluesky, or disconnect the account in Hyvo.
